Branch collection

In order to avoid landfill, the Village of Senneville makes special collections for branches. These branches are shredded and ground into chips. The chips are available free of charge to the citizens of Senneville.

What is the 2024 branch collection schedule?

The official branch collection takes place on Tuesdays every two weeks from mid-April to mid-November (weather permitting).

(April 9 – April 23 – May 7 – May 21 – June 4 – June 18 – July 2 – July 16 – July 30 – August 13 – August 27 – September 10 – September 24 – October 8 – October 22 – November 5)

IMPORTANT – Occasionally, collection days may vary depending on the urgent tasks required by the Public Works employees.

How to place the branches?

To ensure that the branches are collected, it is IMPORTANT to follow the following rules of use:

  • Branches must be grouped and stacked to a height not exceeding 1.2 metres (4 feet) and a length not exceeding 4 metres (13.2 feet);
  • Branches must not be tied;
  • Branches must be placed on your property approximately 1 metre from the edge of the road and in small piles with the trimmed edge facing towards the road (away from poison ivy plants);
  • Branches must not exceed 7.5 cm (three inches) in diameter as this service is intended only to handle branches from minor pruning or from storm damage. Any pruning or tree felling performed by private contractors will not be collected.
What will not be picked up?
  • Tangled branches;
  • Thorny branches (e.g. hawthorn, rose bushes…) that can cause injury;
  • Tree residue from pruning or felling by private contractors will not be collected;
  • Small scrapings
  • Roots, stumps and foreign objects such as plastic and metal, are not accepted;
  • Noncomplying branches will not be collected, as a result, a notice explaining areas of non-conformity will be left in the mailbox for future reference.

Choose the category: COLLECTE – BRANCHES (ADMINISTRATION) **Please specify the quantity of mulch desired (1/2 or 1 trip), the location where we will deposit the mulch and your phone number.

What is the cost of mulch?

The municipality offers shredded branches (wood chips), free of charge, to citizens.

When will mulch be delivered in 2024?

Mulch will be delivered at the same time as the branch collection, i.e. every two weeks on Tuesdays (weather permitting).
